Reflection :
Definition of Qualitative Research:
"Qualitative research is the collection, analysis and interpretation of comprehensive narrative and visual data in order to gain insights into a particular phenomenon of interest. It aims to promote a deep understanding of a particular phenomenon, such as process and belief."
(Gay, Mills & Airasian, 2006)


Research Process:
1. Identify a research topic
2. Review the literature
3. Select participants
4. Collect data
5. Analyze and interpret data
6. Report and Evaluate

Features:
1. Focus on individual and interpersonal interactions.
2. Avoid making premature decision and assumption.
3. Include voices of participants.
4. Sources of data are real-world situations. .
5. Data is narrative in nature.
6. Data are analyzed inductively
7. Provide clear, detailed information reflecting participants' voices

Validity and Reliability:
Validity is the degree to which the qualitative data we collect accurately gauge what we are trying to measure. Strategies include talk a litte, listen a lot, observations and write accurately.
Reliability is the degree to which study data consistently measure whatever they measure.

FOllowing Phoebe Leung's line of thoughts, I think you should choose libraries that are similar in setup, in number of students, in library collection etc in order for the comparison to be meaningful.
